Speaking

I am available as a visiting lecturer and conference speaker on games, performance, playful things and community interaction/participation, and have been known to go on a bit about politics in most spheres.

I have spoken at events such as EMF Camp, V&A Lates, Penguin Random House, Feral Vector, Freeplay, GameCity, AMAZE, Hide and Seek’s Come Out and Play, the Pervasive Media Studio in Bristol, Audiences NI, Shift Happens, etc.

I run workshops around participative performance, story collecting and game design for universities and arts organisations – e.g. Theatre in the Mill, ARC Stockton, Northern Stage, UAL, UEL, University of Chichester, RCSSD, Loughborough University, Goldsmiths.

I have lectured at Chichester University, City University London, the TaPRA annual conference, Aberystwyth University, the University of Kent, Leeds Met University, RCSSD, Nottingham Trent University, UAL, UEL, and have taught two full modules at Goldsmiths.

Here’s a talk I did called ‘The Player is a Material Made up of People’ recorded at Freeplay Festival, Melbourne – it’s the keynote from that day. You can also check out my series of performance talks at Videobrains
