Commissioned to write an in depth article for the flagship magazine A Profound Waste of Time. “A Profound Waste of Time is a bold new videogame culture magazine, a lovingly produced home to great writing on the medium and its accompanying narratives. […] Editorially discerning and beautifully designed, each magazine will serve to celebrate and elevate gaming culture and discussion”.
I focussed on the experience of playing the Giant Squid Studios game ABZÛ as someone who considers themselves a highly proficient swimmer. I also interviewed 3 people with competitive or proficient swimming backgrounds on their experience of swimming in games in general, and in ABZÛ specifically.
The magazine will be published in 2017.
